Summer

We've successfully navigated through most of this Summer. We've been out since May 22 and the first day of school is August 10. Yep, 30 short days from yesterday!

The minis just finished a week of soccer camp at The University where we determined that Jack is indeed a stud (puppy ran under his bed this morning and he LIFTED up the bed! He's 6!) and sports a faux hawk very well. The cute college female soccer players went bonkers over him, which may have contributed to his love of the camp. Enough said.

Wednesday I am driving the minis to Louisville to meet my parents for the Granny Camp 2009 Session 2 child swap. Upon their return, Coach has a week of vacation and we are still contemplating what we're doing then.

In any case, it's almost over.

I know for a lot of moms, Summer is great. You love the relaxed schedule and the sunshine. My boys ADORE school and do much better with that schedule. It's been a nice time, but Heaven knows they are a mess of work. In fact we spent last Monday night in the Children's Hospital getting stitches in Jack's ear from where the puppy bit him.

What have you been doing?

I'm agree with the summer! My son is super active and requires a lot of structure! Even though he's only almost 4, I know this will continue when he finally gets into school - but for now, I'm glad daycare is EVERYday!

We have just had our first week of 7 weeks of summer holidays. Two did soccer camp last week as well. I love the busy school schedule and one of the reasons we live here is because of the excellent schooling. So what's the point of being here when it's out and everyone is away? Get me out of here.

I have to work today and tomorrow - then we are off to Australia for 4 weeks. I am very lucky - the nanny is taking the 3 to Kids Zania today (a totally cool indoor theme park where they do adult jobs ( pilot, astronaut, doctor, fashion designer etc). I have never been, but it unbelievably great fun I am told.

When we get back - there is swimming squad in mornings and friends will be back in town. So hoping those 2 weeks will be more fun for them.

I thought I was the only person who wished these holidays didn't have to be so long (in Aus the longest holiday is 4 weeks - and that's got xmas and new years in there....this is ridiculous).

I have to say I absolutley LOVE your blog.

This summer has been busy with new baby keeping the 3 yearold and 13 year old entertained. We are going to the lake next weekend, but things have been so busy I have not accomplished any of my summer ideas.
